The Association�s Board of Directors visits Capitol Hill once a year to speak with Senators, Congressmen and USDA in person.

The Association also operates a PAC advocating the industry�s interests and concerns.

�National Meat Association has a continued presence in Washington, D.C. primarily through its Government Relations Liaison and legal counsel.

NMA�s Washington, DC liaison Shawna Thomas, is actively engaged in bringing the meat message to the Hill on a daily basis.

A native of Houston, Texas, Ms. Thomas earned her Bachelor�s Degree in Political Communication from George Washington University.
